Green Voice Design Competition.

The NEWH Green Voice Design Competition provides students with the opportunity to showcase their design skills while utilizing the very best in sustainable design products and practices. Our sponsors have generously donated the awards – one to the winning undergraduate student and one to the winning graduate student with airfare/lodging to the awards event at HD Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada provided.

Eligibility

  • Interior Design or Architecture students; undergraduate (in a 4-year program) or graduate students (must be enrolled in an accredited college).

  • Students (2) may work together on a team submission (splitting the $7,500 scholarship if awarded); each student receiving paid airfare and lodging to the awards event.

  • Instructors may use competition as a class project evaluating all class projects and submit no more than (5) top projects for consideration (a submittal form must be included with each project).

Render 3D Quickly Scholarship.

Render 3D Quickly is excited to announce the launch of the Render 3D Quickly Scholarship Program. One college hopeful will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used towards their higher education.

You don’t have to be an expert on the subject; the most important thing is originality. Creativity and an understanding of technology in industries such as construction, will help set your entry apart.

Eligibility information is as follows:

Students currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school, or design school.
If chosen, you will need to be able provide proof of enrollment in your chosen college or university

Our Fall 2017 catalog cover was designed by John Coy. For 40-plus years as director of Gemini G.E.L.’s graphics program, John has worked closely with many major contemporary artists including Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Gehry and others.

$1000 FEATHR Scholarship.

Arc+ID students,

Commencing in 2017, wallpaper and fabric house FEATHR will be awarding a yearly $1000 scholarship to a current or prospective arts, performing arts, humanities or design student at an accredited United States university or college.  The scholarship will be awarded based upon an essay submission, answering the following question: “How and why has a piece of art influenced your personal, educational and/or creative development.”

How to Apply

To apply for the FEATHR Wallpaper Scholarship, answer the question:

“How and why has a piece of art influenced your personal, educational and/or creative development.”

Tell us about what the piece of art was, where you encountered and what its impact has been, in the short and long term.

Requirements

Essays must be 700-1000 words long, answering the question: “How and why has a piece of art influenced your personal, educational and/or creative development.”

For the purposes of this scholarship, we define art as being the visual arts, including for example: ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking and architecture.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the FEATHR Wallpaper Scholarship, you must be:

  • a legal U.S. Resident

  • either a current undergraduate college/university student or a current high school student that will enroll in a college/university in 2017

  • studying an arts, performing arts, humanities or design-based subject

  • in good academic standing with your current educational institution

You must provide proof of enrollment and subject with your email submission.  This can take the form of a digital scan of your acceptance letter, a letter from admissions or digital copy email/letter from your tutor or course leader confirming your presence on the course.

Submission & DeadlinesSubmissions for the 2017 scholarship award must be received by 1 December 2017.  Submissions after this deadline will not be considered.

All entries must be submitted to submit@feathr.com.

Email your entry as a Word document or PDF attachment.  In the email, include your full name, age, postal address and contact mobile number.  Please also include a headshot in either PNG or JPG format.

NEWH Scholarships for Hospitality Students

NEWH Los Angeles Founding Chapter is offering a total of $40,000 in scholarships to 7 students pursuing careers affiliated in the Hospitality Industry. Scholarship submission deadline is September 30th, 2017.   Winners will be honored at NEWH Los Angles Founding Chapter Annual Gala Event on October 14, 2017.

Scholarship criteria: Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college in: Los Angeles Southern California zip codes 900‐935 Must have completed half of the credits for a degree or certification in the program you are currently enrolled Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA Must be pursuing a career objective in the Hospitality Industry (i.e., Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary, Food Service, Architecture, Design etc.)
