2×8 Opening Night

Represent. This Thursday night, UCLA Extension is honored to have a team representing our school in AIA_LA’s 2×8 exhibition of student work. It’s part of AIA LA’s scholarship competition. Be there for the opening/party and announcement of winners on the streets of DTLA at the plaza at The Bloc. Eleven other schools are competing, so #support. NEWH, Inc. is offering the $5,000 NEWH Harvey Nudelman scholarship sponsored by Fabricut
Contract & FR One and open to students pursuing a career objective in hospitality Interior Design.
The scholarship sponsor and recipient will be honored on during HD Expo on May 2, 2018 in Las
Vegas, Nevada. The scholarship recipient is required to attend the awards event (travel and
lodging provided). Applications must be received by December 4th, 2017.

Qualifying Criteria:

Enrolled student attending an accredited college/program

Must have completed half your total required credits/units/hours (undergrad degree) or be a graduate student

3.0 GPA (cumulative) or overall “B” average or grade percentage of 83% – 86% equivalent

Have financial need through college for current/upcoming tuition or program approved books/supplies

Major and career objective within hospitality: Interior Design only

$1,000 James R. Northcutt Scholarship Winner.

On behalf of the UCLA Extension Interior Design Program, we would like to congratulate Colleen on having been selected as the winner of the $1,000 James R. Northcutt Introductory Level Scholarship. You were selected in consultation with Eleanor Schrader based upon the excellence of your work in the Fundamentals of Interior Design class. Congratulations!

NEHL Scholarship Opportunity.

NEWH, Inc. is offering the 5th annual NEWH Product Design Competition $4,000 scholarship sponsored by Symmons. The scholarship is open to Interior Design or Architecture students and includes submission of a lavatory faucet design. The winning student will be honored May 2, 2018 at HD Expo in Las Vegas.

 

Scholarship Criteria:

Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college

Must have completed half the requirements/credits for an undergraduate degree or be enrolled in a graduate program

Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award in May 2018

Must have 3.0 cumulative GPA or a current overall grade percentage of 83 – 86% or B average equivalent

Must be pursuing a career objective in Hospitality Interior

Design or Architecture

Winner must attend the awards event at HD Expo May 2, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada with airfare/lodging provided

Scholarship submission deadline is January 2nd, 2018.

Green Voice Design Competition.

The NEWH Green Voice Design Competition provides students with the opportunity to showcase their design skills while utilizing the very best in sustainable design products and practices. Our sponsors have generously donated the awards – one to the winning undergraduate student and one to the winning graduate student with airfare/lodging to the awards event at HD Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada provided.

Eligibility

  • Interior Design or Architecture students; undergraduate (in a 4-year program) or graduate students (must be enrolled in an accredited college).

  • Students (2) may work together on a team submission (splitting the $7,500 scholarship if awarded); each student receiving paid airfare and lodging to the awards event.

  • Instructors may use competition as a class project evaluating all class projects and submit no more than (5) top projects for consideration (a submittal form must be included with each project).

Furniture Design Course.

**New Furniture Design course open for the 2017 Fall Quarter.

The course begins on Tuesday, September 26th from 6-9:00PM.

The course explores the design process, from the concept stage to product development. Lectures, workshop visits, project reviews, and class critiques will be integrated with support from targeted industry experts to provide a wide knowledge of the process, as well as manufacturing techniques. A series of mini-projects will lead to creating a commercial furniture line, where context, functions, and technology play a key role.

Render 3D Quickly Scholarship.

Render 3D Quickly is excited to announce the launch of the Render 3D Quickly Scholarship Program. One college hopeful will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used towards their higher education.

You don’t have to be an expert on the subject; the most important thing is originality. Creativity and an understanding of technology in industries such as construction, will help set your entry apart.

We’re excited to announce the Houzz Scholarship Program. Our goal is to support the next generation of students studying architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and construction management. We love innovation and are looking for the best and brightest in the residential design world.

Who can apply?

We welcome all students 18 years of age or older at interior design, architecture, landscape architecture, and architectural engineering schools in the U.S. and Canada to apply for one of our three scholarships. This is open to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate design or architecture program.
