This Winter 2015 quarter, Betty Merken will be leading a unique weekend workshop that offers students an exciting new perspective to understanding color design:

The Language of Color

January 24 – 25 | 10am-4pm | 253301

It is said that the human brain can perceive seven-million different colors. Whether you are a professional or a beginner, this fun and fact-filled hands-on workshop can help you to fill your life with exciting color while learning to use color as a professional. Using water-based gouache paint and guided by proven color theory systems developed by the instructor, participants learn the “keys” to creating custom colors, how to select and use colors to maximize their effects, and how to create successful color palettes and harmonies. The instructor also discusses how color affects human behavior, mood, and context, as well as effective and responsible color design for residences, the workplace, restaurants, schools, and medical centers.

Enrollment limited. Students will be sent a materials list upon registration for the class and the cost of materials will be approximately $95.
