Accessories for Residential Interiors: Arc_ID Summer course

There is still enrollment space available for Virginia Knight ‘s (ASID, CID) course “Accessories for Residential Interiors” (Reg# V2176B). Ginny, who calls herself a “home healer,” owns Interim Interiors and is a long-time Los Angeles designer. As such she has been an encouraging voice to students and designers struggling with the current economy. “Just keep going until it gets better,” she says. “It will get better!” Ginny is also a three time recipient of the UCLA Extension Department of the Arts Instructor of the Year Award! She believes that good design is in the details, the “stuff” of the home, and that is what her course is aimed at highlighting.

Her six-week accessories course examines the appropriateness, timing, aesthetics, function, and availability of accessories in residential interior design through slide demonstrations, guest lecturers, and field trips to the marketplace. Topics range from lamps and lighting, wall-hangings and art, to linens and tableware, area rugs and pillows, folk and tribal art, mirrors, garden ornaments, and antique accessories. This is a can’t miss class for aspiring home designers and professionals alike! It is also a great way for our program students to earn elective credits.
