RE: ADMISSION TO UCLA EXTENSION/CAL POLY POMONA
MASTER OF INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM
Please be advised that the following rules apply for those interested in applying for the UCLA Extension/Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) Degree Program. The deadline for Admissions Applications for Winter Quarter, 2011 is October 30, 2010. All application materials must be postmarked by this date. For this application cycle only, the portfolio requirement will be waived for all current
Arc_ID students. All other CPP application requirements must be fulfilled. Information on the application requirements can be found at:
CPP will endeavor to inform students as soon as possible regarding decisions on admission and registration instructions. Students admitted into the MIA Program for Winter Quarter must register for at least one CPP class. Upon notification of admission students may also sign up for appropriate MIA Advanced Courses offered through UCLA Extension. Starting in Winter Quarter 2011, students wishing to pursue the MIA Degree will be required to fulfill the CPP “residency requirement.” In order to do this, students must first be admitted into the program and then register through CPP and complete at least the following 32 units of advanced classes:
INA 601 – Interior Architecture Studio III (6 Units
INA 602 – Interior Architecture Studio IV (6 Units)
INA 672 – Project Management (4 Units)
INA 691 – Masters Project Interior Architecture Studio (8 Units)
INA 695 – Masters Project Interior Architecture Documents (8 Units)
*Please note that although these classes are registered through Cal Poly, they will be held at UCLA Extension.
more of the classes listed above starting January 2011, YOU MUST APPLY FOR ADMISSION BY OCTOBER 30, 2010 IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO EARN CREDIT FOR THESE CLASSES.
Example #5: All other students, who are in some stage of taking Pre-requisite classes, and who wish to pursue the MIA Degree, should plan to apply for admission the quarter before they expect to begin taking Advanced Classes.
