A member of UCLA Extension Arc_ID’s Guidance Commitee, Darrell Schmitt, was honored by ASID last week and named an ASID Fellow.
From a press release: The A&D community lit up The Queen City last Friday evening as the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) bestowed their annual awards at the an affair aptly titled, “Celebration.” ASID honored industry leaders and students for their talent, innovation, and philanthropic efforts across the globe.
At the event, ASID President Bruce Brigham noted, “Design has always been a hallmark of great cultural achievement. Today, it is becoming increasingly important in our world—as a source of innovation and economic competitiveness, as a model for sustainable growth, and as a means to address pressing social and demographic issues. Although these are challenging times for our industry, we can be confident that the road to recovery will include more design, not less. That is certainly worth celebrating.”
We couldn’t agree more! Congratulations Darrell!
