Course Spotlight: Green Design Specialization Studio

ATTENTION Arc-ID Students! There are still spaces available in the fall quarter Green Design Specialization Studio (Reg # V2567) with Isabelle Duvivier! This class can be taken as a subsitute for Interior Design Studio IV for students in the Certificate Program. You can enroll online or by calling enrollment at 310-825-9971 and giving them the listed Registration number.

Course description is as follows: This design studio focuses on incorporating environmental building principles with innovative design solutions. Starting with the development of a schematic design concept, students learn to produce complete interior building plans for a commercial space. Sustainable material selection, natural lighting techniques, passive solar technologies, and other environmental concepts are incorporated, and instruction is supplemented with slide presentations, guest lectures, and building tours. Students’ final presentations include models, plans, interior elevations, daylighting sections, 3D sketches, electrical plans, and details. Prerequisite: X 430C Interior Design Studio III. This “green” course provides course materials online to minimize paper waste; Internet access required. Permission to enroll required. Web enrollments automatically generate a “Permission to Enroll” request.
