Nest Feathers and ASID LA join forces for the Jenesse Center

Nest Feathers and ASID LA have joined forces to renovate and furnish two apartments for the Jenesse Center.

Jenesse Center, Inc. is the oldest domestic violence intervention program in South Los Angeles. The Center was founded in 1980 by five African American women who were survivors of domestic violence. Their mission is to provide victims of domestic violence with a comprehensive, centralized base of support to assist them in addressing their immediate crisis and changing the patterns of their lives.

A message from Karen Hickey, Director of Nest Feathers

Hi Everyone!!

I hope everyone is doing well.

I know that many of you are very busy, but we really need your help on this project. Think how special it would be for a mother and her children who are escaping a domestic violent situation to find refuge in a safe apartment they can call home.

Below is the punch list of items that we need. We are working on a lead for carpet.

But we need a donation for paint! Does anyone have a good working relationship with an owner of a paint store?

If you don’t have time to sign up for a space, please just keep this project in mind and help spread the word for donations.

If you don’t want to ask, send me the lead of the name and product and I will phone/write/e-mail.  That would be a great contribution.

Thank you for your time.

Karen Hickey
