LACMA: Architects Discuss Design (11.15.09)

In conjunction with the exhibit From the Spoon to the City (which we’ve written about before) LACMA is hosting a panel discussion on the fusion of architecture and design at 7pm. Architects Elena Manferdini and Greg Lynn will participate in a panel discussion led by Frances Anderton, host of KCRW’s DnA: Design and Architecture (and Dwell’s Los Angeles editor). The group will discuss their design processes and how they translate design concepts and techniques between small and large scales. ($15 – 20)

LACMA Exhibit: “From the Spoon to the City”

We thought our Arc_ID students might enjoy this exhibit at LACMA subtitled “Objects by Architects from LACMA’s Collection.” It offers great insight on the evolution of interior architecture. The exhibit runs from August 6th – January 24th.

Dwell Magazine‘s website states: “The exhibition will be organized into four chronological groups, based on particularly fertile moments in design history and featuring works by Frank Lloyd Wright, Marcel Breuer, Rudolph Schindler, Richard Neutra, Charles and Ray Eames, Alvin Lustig, Greta Magnusson Grossman, Frank Gehry, Ettore Sottsass, Michael Graves, Greg Lynn, Elena Manferdini, and Johanna Grawunder.”

Sounds great to us! You can read all about the exhibit here (LACMA Website)
