This seminar satisfies the California Architects Board’s mandatory continuing education on Disabled Access Requirements for license renewal.

Senate Bill 1608 heightens the standard and responsibility for disabled access compliance in California. The bill also requires disabled access education as part of architectural licensing. This three-hour seminar discusses the fundamentals of accessible design pertaining to areas of evacuation assistance, door clearances and hardware, single- and multiple-accommodation restrooms, showers, bathtubs, kitchens, and elevators. The 2007 California Building code is used as the basis of design. No refund after September 23.

About the instructor:
Nate Wittasek, MS in fire science and engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute; Senior Fire Safety Engineer, Ove Arup & Partners (ARUP), Los Angeles; former firefighter. Mr. Wittasek also holds a Professional Engineers license in the State of California and has acted in the capacity of fire and life safety engineer and code consultant for various projects around the world, including Disney Concert Hall, Staples Center, Griffith Observatory, San Jose Civic Center, and Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal.
