UCLA Extension Architecture + Interior Design Program Overview


The UCLA Extension Architecture and Interior Design Program (Arc+ID) has a tripartite mission:

  1. To provide Southern California’s best program in interior design for those individuals wanting a professional career in the interior design industry.
  2. To offer the highest quality professional development opportunities for practicing architects and interior designers.
  3. To provide members of the general public with a variety of classes through which they can deepen their knowledge and understanding in the areas of architecture and interior design.

Advanced Level/Master of Interior Architecture Degree

The primary goal of the Master’s program is to provide an opportunity for individuals with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree to pursue a rigorous program of part time study that prepares them to enter the field of interior design incorporating the highest standards of professional practice. The program particularly serves career-change students seeking to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming interior design professionals.

Professional Development + Personal Enrichment for Architects and Interior Designers

If you are already a practicing architect or interior designer you can enhance your skills by taking courses in our Professional Development Series. These include courses in CAD Technology, Marketing, and Project Management. Since Arc+ID is a qualified CEU provider, these offerings provide the additional benefit of counting towards your professional CEU requirements.

Or if you are primarily interested in enriching your knowledge as a non-professional, you can choose from a wide array of offerings. There are lecture courses on topics ranging from Spanish Colonial Revival Architecture to Medieval Environments to Early American Furniture.
